2 Months

Now that Jax is 3 month I figure it's time to post Jax at 2 months! He had his checkup and to no surprise he is still growing rapidly and healthy!

At two months- he was starting to get into more of a routine with sleeping. He would sleep about 5 or 6 hours without having to eat. He is really good in the sense that he wakes up, eats for around 10 minutes, then goes right back to bed for about 3 hours without a fuss.

Height: 23.5 inches long=61st percentile

Weight: 13 pounds 14 ounces= 95th percentileHead Circ: 39.1 cm=22nd percentile. (who would have thought I'd have a kid with a small head- his cheeks make it look like his head is quite large!)

We finally made it to the Aquarium!

I've wanted to take Kaleb to the aquarium forever but just never got around to it. The other day my friend posted on her blog a killer deal for an annual pass so of course I just had to buy it for Kaleb and I. Bryson was in school that week so he was done every day by 12ish so we decided to go when he could come as well. Kaleb wanted his cousin Zoe to go as well so we took one more! Kaleb loved it and was running from one thing to another! Jaxon pretty much slept the entire time which was quite nice.

After the aquarium, we headed back to our house for a sleepover. The kids were so tired but still managed to enjoy their popcorn and movie!

An obsession for matching

As many of you know- from the day we found out we were having another baby- I wanted it to be a boy. There were many reasons such as, Kaleb would have a brother, we already boy things, etc. However I would have to say that the biggest reason was so I could buy them matching clothes. Pathetic I know. I had previously bought Kaleb and Bryson matching things (ties and church shirts) but Bryson really seemed to hate it and would never wear them! I am now in Heaven dressing my two gorgeous little boys in matching clothes. Enjoy a few pictures :)

Jaxon at one month

I am a total slacker and still haven't bought a baby book to keep record Jaxons weight/height/cute thing he does so I figure I should atleast post it on here until I get one. Time is flying by so fast with Jaxon! He started out as a super easy baby who was pretty content. In the time since, it has changed slightly. He is pefectly content as long as I'm holding him or sleeping. He doesn't like to be put down much in his awake hours. He is not a real great sleeper. Kaleb was an amazing sleeper so I kind of just assumed Jaxon would be the same. Kaleb would wake up every 3 hrs eat for 8 minutes then go right to bed without a peep. Jaxon is a little more high maintenance. For the first month- he would wake up every 2-3 hours to eat (he eats a lot longer as he is a chunk) then it took like 20-25 minutes just to get him to go back to sleep. Since he was born- 4:30ish has just been his morning. He is awake pretty much from then on and it is definately his fussiest time. Just in the last week- it's gotten a little better where he will eat around 9:30 at night then sleep till around 2/2:30 t

hen is pretty good about going right to bed- but then come 5ish he is wide awake :( I've started just putting him in his own room then and turning on his mobile to keep him entertained so I can get a little more sleep!



This is Jaxon at exactly one month old-


Jaxon is definately a "grunter" He is constantly grunting. When we were at the grocery store the other day checking out, the lady in front of me turned around and was like "Mam, is your baby grunting?" I just chuckled and said yes. He is so darn cute and we just love having him. He has also, on rare occasions, started smiling at you. When he was about 2-3 weeks old I was at my sisters and he was facing my sister and mom and he smiled at both of them! You have to work hard but usually you can get a smile out of him.

Kaleb needed a break!

When Jax was almost two weeks old- Kaleb was having quite the day and was feeling neglected so he invited his cousin Madi over. When we first made the plans- it had just snowed and we planned on making snowmen. However the snow melted quite quickly so they ended up just playing with the bikes outside and were just as happy! We're so happy to live so close to cousins for Kaleb to play with :)

Adjusting to life with two

Jaxon was two weeks old yesterday and I can't believe how fast time is going! At his two week appointment he was 8 lbs and 21 inches long. He is getting pretty big. Kaleb was always in like the 10th (and still is) percentile so it's weird to have Jax in the 80th! He really is the best baby ever! He is so low maintenance which makes it easier to adjust. He doesn't care if you're holding him or if he's in the bassinet/swing/bouncer. He is pretty content either way. He doesn't really cry, when he's hungry, he'll give a few grunts but never a full on cry. Last night Bryson told me to hold off on feeding him because he needed to cry because it is good for his lungs (not sure where he picked that up from) but Jax set there for like 5 minutes and let out a few whimpers then fell back to sleep! We are so lucky to have such a good little boy. The only difficult thing is the lack of sleep. Jax wakes up every 2 to 3 hours to eat and eats for about a half hour or more. He is a great eater. He has a few bad nights every now and then but nothing unbearable. Kaleb however wakes up at 6 am and wants breakfast. That has been the toughest part for me as I don't get a ton of sleep at night then I'm up and making breakfast at 6am (and by making breakfast I mean microwaving pancakes).

Jaxon is starting to become more alert and is staying awake for longer periods of time. Kaleb is adapting well and only has issues if both Brys and I are paying attn to Jaxon at the same time. Besides that he's doing much better at sharing attention!

Jaxon Bryce Davis

Not sure why Kalebs face is so silly but it's the best we could get that day!

Tuesday night- Brys could tell how tired I was and suggested we go out to dinner to Texas Roadhouse. We thought it would be fun to go out for what possibly could be the last time with just us three as I thought baby boy would come this upcoming weekend. We ate a delicious meal and on the way out I stopped to make a normal bathroom run as I knew I wouldn't make it home. As I was walking out to the car- I abruptly stopped in the middle of the road as I was sure I was peeing my pants which was quite strange as I'd just gone. I waddled my way over to the car where Bryson was telling me to hurry and get in as we had a few errands he wanted to run. I told him that I had either just peed my pants or my water had broke. Brys then told me to definately NOT get in the car. Weirdly enough he had towels in the trunk and once he made sure I wouldn't ruin anything, I was allowed in the car :) I was so confused as at first I was sure I had just peed my pants but it wasn't stopping. Brys was so cute and giddy. He was like we need to get you to the hospital now. I had to talk him into taking me home first as I hadn't packed any bags. Once he was assured that I wouldn't have the baby in the car on the way home he calmed down just a tad bit. We got home and I looked online to see what "breaking of water" was supposed to be like. When that didn't help I called the hospital and asked them. This whole time I still had not stopped "peeing" We decided it was probably my water that indeed had broken or something was super wrong with my bladder!

We dropped Kaleb off at my sisters and headed up to the hospital around 9:30. They admitted us right away and said that my membranes were "grossly ruptured" which in other terms means that my water had definately broken. I hadn't started having contractions yet and was only dialated at a four so they told us just to sit tight and if contractions hadn't started by morning they would start me on petocin. At 5am nothing had happened so they put me on Petocin and told me it would take a few hours to kick in. I layed there and was devastated at 7AM when nothing had happened. They kept telling me to get the epidural before contractions started but I told them I'd wait till they did. Little did I know that they would start and be so PAINFUL so quickly. By 7:45 I was in full fledge labor dialated to an 8 having contractions 2 minutes a part. After that things didn't really slow down. I got the epidural after which seemed like eternity (really only 15 minutes or so) and it was amazing. At 9:00am they called the doctor because I was dialated to a 10 and was ready to have him. My doctor had just barely went into surgery as an hour previous I was only at a four. He said he really wanted to deliver my baby and to sit tight so the nurse stayed with me and told me whatever I did not to push. About 20 minutes later- I informed the nurse that I felt like he was going to fall at as it really did feel that way. She checked me and realized there was no way I was making it until 10 for my own dr. They called another doctor who got there around 9:30. They had me start pushing at 9:36 and after three contractions of pushing- he was here at 9:40! It was an AMAZING experience. With Kaleb there was an epidural disaster and I ended up getting three right before I had him which pretty much put me to sleep and I don't remember much! This labor was so amazing as I was actually "there" and got to experience seeing him coming out and everything! He weighed 6pds and 15 ounces and is 18.5 inches long and perfectly healthy! He is so darn cute and we are so happy to have him here. This recovery has been a breeze and I've literally had no pain. We even talked them into letting us come home after only 24 hours after we finally decided no a name (yes he was nameless for 24 hours) It has been a huge adjustment having 2 kids especially since Brys went back to work on Friday. By the time I got Jaxon to sleep on Friday morning around 6, Kaleb was wide awake and insisting I make him pancakes. Luckily my mom got to my house around 7 and took over so I could get some sleep! Hopefully Jaxon gets on more of a schedule so maybe sleep can be a "normal" thing again for me :)

5 Weeks Left!

I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone by. With Kaleb, I felt like it dragged on and I had nothing to do but wait for him to get here. With this pregnancy it really has flown by. I think it helps having the cutest 2 year old ever to keep me entertained and busy!

This pregnancy has been pretty easy. We had to have an ultrasound a few days before Christmas and our little guy was measuring with a due date of Feb 9th! That is a whole 11 days earlier. If I go by that due date I only have 3.5 weeks left! Yikes- we are so not ready- I decided that since this is a new baby- he needed a new bedding set. I finally ordered one a few weeks ago but it has sat in the packaging since we got it. We have to repaint the entire nursery as the colors aren't remotely close to matching! We also bought a new crib- which still remains in the box in the garage. We finally opened it up on Monday to make sure we liked the color :)

The Dr won't change my official due date- due to legal reasons- but thinks I'll go closer to the 9th then the 20th. He will induce me on the 13th- but I don't want to chance not having him until Valentines Day (that would be horrible as he would have to buy gifts for girls on his birthday) so I think we'll wait until the 15th to be induced if he's not already here!

I would love to say that Kaleb is stoked to be a big brother but I'm quite worried he's not going to love it. The closer we get and the more people talk about baby brother,the more he acts out. He's started having potty accidents again quite frequently and the other day came and hit my belly and said he didn't like brother because he didn't like sharing mommy. Hopefully, once baby (still completely nameless) gets here, he'll decide he likes him!
