Gingerbread Houses with Nana

I know three posts in a day is a lot! However, this is the only journal I keep so I'm trying to get better at it. This year we made our first Gingerbread house and Kaleb wanted Nana to come see our tree and help make the Gingerbread house so down she came! Kaleb has now eaten nearly all of the candy off of it!

Saturday Mornings at the Davis'

Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE my boys? Well I do. For those of you who know Bryson- you know he is an amazing daddy. His world is surrounded around Kaleb and making sure they have plenty of time to play. Well a few months ago, Brys started a tradition where every Saturday morning, they go to the gas station for breakfast and get doughnuts (I know not the healthiest). It is so cute to see Kaleb get so excited to go. When they get back he runs full speed to find me and show me what kind of doughnut he picked out. So for the picture- just remember it's Saturday morning and Bryson lets him dress himself to go!

Las Vegas

Brys and I were lucky enough to go to the NFR in Vegas this year at the beginning of December. My mom rented a large house right by the outlet malls that we all stayed in. We were gone for 4 days and three nights. We have never spent that much time away from our little guy so it was pretty rough. On the other hand it was weird to Bryson acting the way he was. At home, he is usually in bed by like 9 and usually one of us is playing with Kaleb at all times. Bryson was mine for the whole weekend and was so sweet! He made everything about me and made sure I stayed distracted (from missing my little boy) and had a blast. We went to shows and stayed out till 2am every night. He even made us buy ridiculous flannel shirts (as pictured above) so we could fit in at the rodeo! He is so cute. I love him.

I lost my child in Kohls!

I know the title of this post makes me seem like a horrible mom and you're probably thinking it's just a catchy title but it's not- I really lost my child in Kohls last night.

Just as a little preface- on Saturday I went to Kohls with my mom and as I was looking through the clothes and he kept running from my mom. One time he really got a way and we found him hiding in a dressing room but it was only a few minutes so not too bad. (It was a bad place for him to be hiding because once I found him- We stayed in the dressing room and he got a few spankings!)
So last night- Brys, Kaleb and I had to run to Kohls to get one last present. I had told Brys about Saturday so he would be aware not to let him out of his sight either. Of course as soon as we got there- Kaleb had to go potty. When we were coming out we turned to walk past the childrens clothing on our route to find daddy. Well I happened to drop my coat and let go of Kalebs hand and he was gone. He started running in and out of clothes and he was out of sight. I looked alone for like 5 minutes then had a store associate start looking as well. She then called a "Code Yellow" which means some horrible parent has lost their child and every store associate needs to look for him! I called Bryson as well to come over to where we were and he was instantly panicked. Worst time of my life. The store manager kept telling me to stay in one spot and I wanted to kill her. Seriously- my son is lost and you want me to stand her and do nothing. After 20 of the worst minutes of my life (I seriously thought it had been close to an hour) a store attendant found him lying under a bra rack! I was so relieved. I wanted to scream at him and hug him at the same time
Needless to say, Kaleb is never coming shopping with me again. EVER.

The Davis' need sleep!

I know I am way behind and I promise to post pics of our recent outings and such soon but wanted to post about a little dilemma we are having at our house lately. Our little monster is like his mommy in the fact that sleep doesn't come easy. In the past, every once in a while around 3 or 4 he would come and get in bed with us. It was seriously like once or twice a month. Lately it has been nearly every night. Luckily for me, since I am basically surrounded by pillows to try and make my pregnant self comfortable- Kaleb always ends up literally on top of Bryson. So we decided we needed to start taking him back to his own bed so Bryson could get some sleep. But since we started taking him back it has gotten worse- we are taking him back like every hour.

Last night was the worst. Kaleb already wakes up around 5:30-6:30 so with daylight savings in play it is now around 4:30. He came in around 2 last night and laid on top of Bryson so Bryson brought him back to bed. Then around 3:30 I got up for one of many nightly bathroom trips and stepped on him. He had brought his own pillow and blanket and laid down on the floor next to the bed. So I took him back to his room and laid with him. He was wide awake at this point so for an hour and a half I fought him to go back to bed and he never did. I must have drifted off because I woke up at 5:00 and he was gone. He was up hanging out with Bryson while he was getting ready for work! And we were up from there on out!

I don't know what to do about it! I really wouldn't mind him sleeping with us besides Brys doesn't sleep well and he wakes up when Bryson's alarm goes off @ 5:00am. Plus when the new baby is finally here- I don't want him to wake up everytime with the new baby as well.

How do you get a 2 yr old to stay in his own bed???

IT'S A........

We are quite excited to be having another boy :) Kaleb has been saying it was a boy since pretty much the beginning. He even took it upon himself to name him Logan.
We really really wanted a boy and we couldn't be happier! I can only imagine how much fun they are going to have together! I just with my due date wasn't so far away!!!

Mommy I want Pepsi!

Have any of you ever seen the Family Guy commercial where that little kid is like mom, mom, mom, mommy, mommy, mommy, MA, MA? Well that's what I feel like at my house lately. When we're at home Kaleb is quite the mama's boy. He follows me around saying mommy nonstop. I'll say what and he never has anything to really say. Bryson thinks it's hysterical but I can get quite annoyed. I love the little guy but seriously he does it nonstop. Every once in a while when I say what he'll say "I love you" which of course melts my heart.

Yesterday I was in the living room working on a lesson and he kept saying mommy. So I turned around and asked him what he wanted and he said "Mommy I want Pepsi" He had gotten in the fridge & gotten a pop out and had it half way open and was drinking it. WTH? My 2 year old is quite capable of many things. We've tried everything to baby proof and he goes right around them. But what do you do? I just laughed as Bryson wasn't home to get mad at him for drinking pop! Probably won't win me mom of the year.

Last vaca with Uncle Mas till he returns :(

My brother-in-law got called to the Phillipines and leaves on July 14th so we decided to go on a little trip before he left so we headed down to St. George. It was quite hot but we still had fun. Kaleb, my mother-in-law and I went down on his birthday on Wednesday.

We stayed at a condo in Las Palmos Village. It was beautiful and the pool was like 100 ft away so we did a lot of swimming. Kaleb is a fish and could swim all day. His cousin Zoe is the same age so the two always have fun together. We ate at several yummy restaurants and I was able to do some shopping.
It went by way to quickly. Kaleb did a lot of playing and not a lot of sleeping so he was thoroughly exhausted on the trip home which made the traveling quite easy.

Happy Birthday Kaleb!

Happy Birthday my cute little Kaleb! I cannot believe you are already 2 :) You are so perfect and so smart. You talk so well and are finishing up on the potty training end! You have a personality of a teenager and always do what you want. You are so independent and I love it. Your future is so bright and I'm so glad I get to be a part of it. You are everything we ever wanted and we thank Heavenly Father every day for letting you, who is so amazing, come live with us!
I hope you enjoy the whole week in St. George. You absolutely LOVE to swim so my bet is you'll have a blast.
I love you forever and for always.
Love,
Mommy

As some of you may already know we have started on the wild adventure of potty training! He started setting on the toilet and going potty a little over a month ago and then a few weeks ago we decided to get serious as he was telling me more and more he needed to go potty. It has been an adventure to say the least. He's been pretty good about it and we haven't had any horrific incidents. Well until last night.

Since it is approaching summer and we spend almost every hour of daylight outside we've been teaching him to just go potty outside (Bryson absolutely hates when I let him pee outside and says it is "trashy"). This required us to teach him to pee standing up. Last Friday he was in his room playing and I went in to see if he needed to go potty. Well sure enough he was standing there with his pants down peeing in the garbage can! I guess he kind of got the concept? Then last night, I had our dinner in a crock pot on the counter. Yes the crock pot. He now uses a stool to climb up and get his sippys when he's thirsty. I walked in right as he was finishing going potty and about died. Atleast it was an accident and he wasn't intentionally peeing in our food! To say the least- we ate at McDonalds for dinner.

Kalebs first winter trip to the cabin!

I finally caved in to Bryson's pleading and took Kaleb to the cabin back in February. I was way nervous because you have to snowmobile in but it ended up being completely fine and Kaleb loved it! He was a little unsure about walking in the snow as he kept sinking so his daddy made him a nice little play place on the deck where he learned how to make snowballs.

It was a nice weekend of relaxing, eating, and having fun! Kaleb was the only kid up their so he loved the attention he got from nana & papa.

Catch Up Post!

It's been forever since I posted but I have finally found the chord thingy for my camera so this will be quite a long post!

THANKSGIVING:

Thanksgiving was spent running in between houses again this year. We started out at my mom's at like noon and ate. It was just me and my sisters family. My brother showed up late so we got to see him for a minute. We then headed up to Murray to my inlaws where we were all able to make it :). All the food was good that neither Bryson or I ate a piece of pie all day. Anyone who knows me knows how much I LOVE Black Friday. Krissi, my mom and I started @ 3:45AM and shopped all day. It was a blast and I got way too much stuff :)

CHRISTMAS:

Christmas was SO much fun this year. It started with the annual Snyder Family Christmas Party. It was strange this year becuase it's usually on Christmas Eve but we were unable to get a venue this year so we had it the week before. It was really nice to catch up with family members and Kaleb loved loved loved the Caroling Hay ride. He had a perma-grin the whole time till about the last block when he fell sound asleep on daddy's lap :) Christmas Eve we started out at my moms. Bryson worked for a half day and my day at home getting ready was way too stressful. I had to bake like five dozen rolls so I started way early seeming how I had never baked that lg of a quantity before and had to get Kaleb and I ready. I was about halfway done baking with time to spare when I decided to take the dog out. I put her on her leash and open the door. With all her force she was off. I then spent the next 2 hours trying to catch her in my PJS. It was humiliating. I ended up not having enough time to bake all the rolls so I took the dough to moms to cook and by the time they were finished they were awful :( oh well. What can ya do? After eating and sledding at my moms we headed up to Brysons parents for their family Christmas Party. All of Bryson's cousins come which is fun because it's usually the only time we get to see them :( This year was even better as a special guest named Santa came and delivered presents and read them 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' Kaleb was like sitting at the very front of everyone when he was reading. It was way cute. We then opened our PJ's Santa had left us and headed home. Christmas Morning I woke up @ 3 and about went crazy until I woke Bryson up at 630. Kaleb loved his presents this year. He got a four wheeler (it only goes 2mph and still scares him a little) a tractor, and much more. He was very spoiled. I can't wait for him to get older and understand Christmas a little more :) We went to both parents on Christmas day which was way fun as always. This year Brys and I promised each other we'd spend most of the day at our own home which we did and it was way nice.

I'll try to update more regularly now as I can finally upload pictures.
