Family Pics

I just realized I never posted our family pics we took in Sept. So here's a few. My cousin Jami with JBroadbent Photography took them. She did a great job :)

Fall

It's been a very long time since I posted because I keep waiting till I upload pictures but I'm now realizing that may be a while since I've lost the chord thingy.

Kaleb is at such a fun stage right now. He is becoming more and more independent every day. We decided this year it would be fun to take him to a corn maize. We ended up taking him to cornbelly's with my sister Krissi and her family. It was so much fun and well worth the money. They had these big "pillows" which were kind of like a tramp and Kaleb absolutely loved them. There was so much to do. They have a little play place where you can climb up a rope ladder adn go down slides. Up Kaleb went without a problem. I was a pretty proud mamma! We also went and played in the "chicken coop" which was just filled with corn. He wasn't a huge fan of the actual corn maize as it was then passed his nap time by several hours so after about 10 minutes we made our own trail and got out of there.

Friday was Bryson's birthday so we went out to dinner with his family at Texas Roadhouse which we'd heard really good things about. We were not very impressed with the food and the wait was way too long. I then surprised Bryson with tickets to Alice Cooper's concert in Wendover. I had never heard Alice Cooper before so I was very surprised and dissapointed at the concert. The guys a total creep but the rest of the little getaway was fun. As soon as we got there Brys got a much needed 3 hour nap. As always we lost all of our money (always expected though) but we ate a lot of food and enjoyed it just being us too.

Last week I was called into my bosses office and asked if my husband and I would be interested in flying down to Portland to pick up some Jimmy Choos that he needed for Christmas. I of course said yes and our tickets for the weekend of Nov 6 were booked!. We're pretty excited to go to Portland especially since it was paid for by my boss. It'll be another short getaway. I want to take Kaleb as lap seats are free but Brys gave me the ultimatum of Bryson or Kaleb but that he wouldn't go if he had to lug around the carseat, stroller, play pen, etc all weekend. So sadly I think Kaleb will have to sit this one out. I've never left him for more than 24 hours so I'm a little nervous but it should be good for all of us.

So that's our lives right now. I'll try to find my chord today or go buy a new one so I can post pics of my cute little family.

Summer has come and gone.....

Well it's August and I can't believe summer is almost over :(. We didn't do too much this summer in terms of vacation. We did, however, stay busy every weekend. We had a lot of barbeques which were a blast. I loved seeing everybody. We also spent a few weekends at the cabin which as always were fun. We actually bought a Pitster Pro Mini Dirt Bike this summer so we were able to take it up there. Bryson has had a ton of fun with it.

Kaleb's personality has grown so much this summer and it's a blast to see. I think I mentioned in the last blog about him walking but he started back at the beginning of May and we have been chasing after him since. Any time my dad talks about him he says Kaleb only has one speed and it's fast. Very true. He has also learned to crawl, climb, and get onto anything he wants too. He loves climbing on our bed and jumping. He has started throwing the "drop to the ground, kick your feet" fits and I really find it quite entertaining. He started talking more and likes to be vocal. On Sunday, Brys and I were watching TV and we turned around and Kaleb had crawled on to the chair then onto the kitchen table and was drinking my Dr. Pepper. It was a fight to get it away from him. Overall parenting my precious baby boy has been the most amazing journey ever. I CAN'T wait to have more cute little babies like him.
I'm going to try and post an updated picture of Roxy. She has gotten huge and I'm actually starting to like her more. She's finally potty trained and watching her and Kaleb run back and forth from the front room to kitchen could make anyone laugh for hours. Kaleb is the happiest when he's playing with his doggy. (It helps when mommy and daddy laugh at him. He's such a performer)
All in all Bryson and I remain very grateful for our family and jobs. We're hoping to have a relaxing weekend soon where we can just spoil the little guy.

Best Weekend Ever

Last weekend was amazing. Bryson and I have been so busy with the new house but the projects are finally slowing down. We've got the inside finished (besides painting the bathrooms and a room), the lawn in, the sandbox built, the garden planted, flowers planted, dog kennel, now we just need to build the fence. We decided we needed to take a break last weekend. I took a half day on Friday for Mason's graduation. After graduation we all went to Cheesecake Factory and it was yummy. Then on Saturday we got a babysitter for the whole day. It was sad to be away from Kaleb but I had taken two days off during the week so atleast I'd got a few one on one days with my little guy. It was Bryson's work Lagoon day so we started at Lagoon. It was a lot of fun to just spend the day with my hubby and niether of us had been to Lagoon in a while so it was pretty fun.

We then went to the Real Game where David Archuletta performed!!! It was the dedicatory game so they had para-troopers drop in with the game ball and American flag then the plane did a fly over right over the stadium. It was awesome. The game was good although it ended in a tie. Bryson pampered me and kept going and getting me hot chocolate and cookies because it was freezing! It was one of the best days involving just Bryson and I.

Thanks babe for everything! Best mothers day weekend ever! I love you

Kaleb's First Birthday!!

My baby boy turned ONE on June 2nd! It is so weird to see him walking and throwing fits. It seems like yesterday he would sleep all day and only wake up to eat. It is hard to see him get more and more independent and not need mommy and daddy as much.

For his birthday we decided to do a big Luau party for him and all his cousins. We got a big bouncer blowup water slide, slip-n-slide, and a little pool for the kids to play with.

He got lots of cool presents and especially loved his cake. His birthday party was the Saturday before his birthday so for his actual birthday I was able to take work off and he got his pictures taken by Jami, who is my cousin and an amazing photographer. From what I was able to see they turned out amazing and I can't wait to see the rest!

After pictures we went to the zoo. All my nieces and nephews on my side were able to come and it was a lot of fun. I forgot my camera so I wasn't able to take any pictures of him or the animals :( but all in all I think Kaleb really had a great birthday.

As Bryson and I look back over the past year we decided it has been quite a roller coaster. Becoming a parent was a lot harder and a lot more rewarding than we ever imagined! We can't wait to see what comes next!

Bryson and I are eternally greatful!

So I usually wouldn't post something like this but I am truly humbled and greatful for the outcome of the experience and feel like I need to show my gratitude. So you all know that Kaleb is our life. He is so special to us and we would be lost with out him so I feel inclined to share this experience. Last night we put Kaleb to bed as we usually do at 8:00 and I went downstairs to watch the season finale of Grey's Anatomy. Bryson hates that show and usually goes to bed pretty early but for some reason he stayed up with me and watched the whole two hours. When it was over we got up and the dog (P.S we got a little 6wk old puppy on Tuesday) was acting pretty strange and started trying to go upstairs which she's never done. We thought it was weird so Bryson went to put her outside. I was looking over the couch at Bryson and heard a door shut upstairs. We were the only adults there and Kaleb was in his crib. My heart dropped. Bryson and I went running up the stairs. I ran straight into Kaleb's room where he was on his hands and knees. He had a little receiving blanket wrapped around his neck which had somehow became intertwined and was making it hard for him to breath. I hurried and took it off and he started coughing and breathing. It was the scariest experience of my life. It turns out the bathroom door was the one that shut on it's own will. We know Heavenly Father was watching over our little boy and will forever be greatful for that. I thought about it all night and all the events that had happened last night that we usually don't do. If Bryson had gone to bed when he usually did I would have thought it was just him shutting the door and not have checked on Kaleb. Kaleb is doing fine and went right back to bed after a few minutes of crying and woke up happier than usual this morning. It's crazy to think how fast our lives could have changed forever. I am so thankful that we had someone watching over us and it reminded us that He is always watching over us. Sorry this is so long but I felt like I needed to publicly thank Heavenly Father and tell everyone how our faith grew last night because of the event.

Easter fun!

Kaleb playing with new wagon Nanna Davis got him.

He knows he's not supposed to be on the stairs. That explains the devious smile.

Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma Carols

We had a GREAT Easter/Anniversary. It was a little busier than we had planned but still good. Bryson was very proud of his gift so he ended up giving me my gift Friday night. It was an awesome camera. Ours was on it's last leg. I caved and gave him one of his gifts which was "Left 4 Dead" or something creepy like that. Then on Saturday, Bryson's little brother came home from his mission on like the 9th so he invited his brothers and friend Brett to have a "guys night" which turned into an all day event. They came down around noon, played some video games then went shooting right by our house. We then had to leave them sitting at our house to go to my mom's Easter party which is always fun. She has a big Easter Egg hunt for the 10 grankids then this year they roasted marshmallows in a fire pit. They all had a blast. The next day, Easter, was also Jordans homecoming and our anniversary. I gave Bryson his new stereo for his car (his was stolen :() then we spent the rest of the day up at Brysons parents. It was a lot of fun. Kaleb got a cool little wagon thing that he loves to walk around with. All in all it was a great day. I'm still waiting on Brys taking me to dinner for our anniversary though. I'm becoming quite impatient! lol

Kaleb at Grandmas

Easter Weekend!

Easter is only 2 days away and I'm more excited this year than usual. Easter will be extra special this year. First of all, it is Kaleb's first year and I got him a cool little wagon that has sandbox toys in it (for when we put our lawn and sandbox in....). It's in my pantry right now and he sometimes gets in there and plays with it and loves it so I know I chose well. Sunday is also my brother-in-laws homecoming as well as Bryson and I's two year anniversary. I'm kind of bummed it's on easter and Jordan's homecoming because we dont' really get to celebrate it but I'm sure we will next week or something.

So Kaleb is so close to walking but does still fall a lot. The other day I was in cleaning up his room cause his new favorite thing is to take everything off the shelfs and take all the diapers (new) out the pale and throw them on the floor. He was standing and holding on to the diaper geanie while I was cleaning his mess up and before I could do anything he fell backwards and hit his head on the door and the diaper geanie came soon after and hit him in his little nose. I felt so bad it was bleeding and looks so horrible. Isn't that so sad?? I feel like the worst mommy ever. I will try and post a picture of it later today.

April Fun

Wow! I can't believe it's already April. Not too much has changed since my last blog but a few exciting things have occured. I graduated from USU in health education back in December and am so excited I don't have any school left! Yahoo. Also, even more exciting we bought a house in Eagle Mountain and love it. It's perfect and I finally got to paint Kalebs room. It is pretty cute. He also has his very own play room for his excessive amounts of toys.

I am working down in Orem right now about 30 hours a week but count the hours till I get home to my boys.

Bryson has started the electrical apprenticeship and is the most amazing electrician I've ever met. He works for 6 weeks then has school for one week. His first week of school he got a 100% on all his tests. Kaleb and I are very proud of daddy!

Kaleb is now 10 months and probably the cutest boy ever. He has been crawling for 3 months and so close to walking. He is so full of life and brings so much happiness to Bryson and I. He is into everything and loves to pick on kids smaller (and in some cases bigger) than he is but oh well it's kind of cute at his age.

Well that's us for right now! I'll try to post more often.
